Hatchback to Back: The 2018 Subaru Impreza and Honda Civic Go Head to Head in Augusta

The Impreza, one of Subaru's top-selling compact cars, is a popular choice here in Maine, where winters can be harsh and a versatile all-wheel drive vehicle is necessary. At Charlie's Subaru, we know that it's not your only choice in sporty compact cars, and shopping a variety of makes and models is an important part about buying a new vehicle.

Which is why we've done a little research. We've put the redesigned 2018 Subaru Impreza hatchback up against the equally sporty-looking Honda Civic hatchback. While both cars have a lot of great qualities, we're here to show you why the Impreza will work best for your Maine lifestyle.

The Subaru Impreza vs. the Honda Civic Hatchback

Obviously we're big fans of the Subaru Impreza hatchback around here at Charlie'sSubaru. But, you want to know what makes it the better option for you over the competition. Here's a rundown of some of the biggest differences between the Impreza and the Honda Civic hatchback. We think the Impreza has a bit more to offer, in more areas than the Civic.

Power

As previously mentioned, every Subaru in the Impreza lineup has symmetrical all-wheel drive. Honda doesn't offer the Civic hatchback in all-wheel drive on any models. All-wheel drive is a smart choice for handling all kinds of weather and road conditions, it's not just for snow! Also, the Impreza has a larger gas tank, meaning fewer trips to the gas station for you, and with comparable fuel economy ratings, you'll love how affordable all-wheel drive is over front-wheel drive.

Space

The Subaru Impreza is roomier on the inside compared to others in its class. . This is thanks to the larger wheel base and larger overall sizing. In fact, it offers more room all around than the Honda Civic. More headroom, legroom, rear legroom, and more cargo space. The capacity forcargo in the Impreza is 55.3 cubic feet, while the Civic only offers 46.2 cubic feet.

Comfort

With a nod to all that extra leg and headroom, the Subaru Impreza offers the more comfortable ride. Plus, the seats and interior cabin are constructed using high quality materials that look luxurious and expensive. With all its creature comforts on the inside, the Impreza is the better car for short and long road trips. And when you
